a QUOTE TO LIVE BY
“The psyche is a wilderness that is a mystery to many. What we consciously know is seldom what brings about the problems of life. It is the unknown content of our unconscious that usually ‘sinks the ship’.’ Dr. Taylor sees the therapist as a ‘trail guide’ in the wilderness, holding the lamp lighting the way for the client to discover their unique road to success, true joy, peace and fulfillment.”

KATIE MERCADANTE
COUNSELOR, LMHC, LPC, NCC, ART Practitioner
community. Within this unique system, there occurs a dance of influence, highlighting the profound interconnectedness and mutual impact of each component. With this awareness and a deep understanding of the irreplaceable role of relationships in healing, I partner collaboratively with my clients.
My areas of specialization include attachment issues, trauma recovery, family systems therapy, anxiety, depression, identity development, emotional regulation, self-awareness, and self-esteem enhancement.
My approach integrates holistic and evidence-based modalities tailored to meet each client’s specific needs, empowering them to achieve their individual goals. My training includes systemic therapeutic approaches, trauma-responsive care, expressive arts therapy, play therapy, and movement-based interventions.
Additionally, I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and an Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) Practitioner. ART is particularly effective for trauma, combining psychotherapy with eye-movement techniques to help individuals rapidly process distressing memories and reduce associated emotional and physical reactions. It is highly effective in addressing:
- Trauma and PTSD: Quickly and safely resolving traumatic memories, reducing intrusive symptoms.
- Anxiety and Depression: Lowering the intensity of emotional distress and anxiety-related symptoms.
- Emotional Regulation: Helping clients gain better control over their emotional responses.
- Rapid Results: Clients often experience significant relief within just a few sessions.
My certification in ART equips me to offer specialized trauma-informed care tailored to individual needs, enhancing a comprehensive, holistic therapeutic approach.
My practice is definitively client-centered—this is your healing journey, and I am honored to walk alongside you.
Elizabeth Palmer
LCSW, MPH
Elizabeth Palmer provides integrative, whole-person healthcare that bridges mental health, physical health, and functional medicine. With over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, 10 years as a licensed acupuncture physician, and advanced clinical training as a psychiatric nurse practitioner and functional medicine provider, Elizabeth’s work is grounded in the understanding that emotional well-being is deeply influenced by what is happening throughout the body not just the brain.
Rather than treating isolated symptoms, Elizabeth takes a thoughtful, systems-based approach to care. She works collaboratively with patients to identify the biological, emotional, and lifestyle factors contributing to how they feel, then develops personalized care plans designed to restore balance and resilience over time.
Elizabeth’s approach blends clinical expertise with careful listening, advanced assessment, and integrative strategies, allowing care to be precise, individualized, and responsive to each patient’s unique needs. Conditions treated include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, autism spectrum disorders, and menopause-related emotional changes.
Christine Ranum
APRN, PMHNP-BC
A board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a background in critical care nursing and experience in consultation-liaison and outpatient psychiatry. I currently practice in the telehealth outpatient setting, treating adults ages 18 to 99 across a wide range of mental health concerns.
I received my psychiatric training at the University of Alabama and later expanded my expertise through the Integrative Psychiatric Institute, which emphasizes a holistic approach to mental health. This dual training allows me to blend conventional psychiatric treatments with complementary and alternative therapies, providing care that goes beyond symptom reduction to address the root causes of mental illness and support long-term wellness.
My early experience in critical care taught me the importance of treating the whole person—body, mind, and lifestyle. Today, I bring that same philosophy into my psychiatric practice by incorporating nutrition, lifestyle modifications, and mind-body interventions. My goal is to partner with each patient in developing a personalized path to mental wellness that is both evidence-based and sustainable.
